About Royal Worcester China

The Worcester Porcelain factory was founded in 1751 in Worcester, England, and began producing hard paste porcelain blue and white tea wares. The company received a warrant to produce porcelain for the Queen in 1879, and subsequently added the Royal name. At its height, the firm employed about 1,000 people, but later merged with Spode. The Portmeirion Group acquired Royal Worcester in 2009.
